ABOUT LINDSAY
What can I say? I love words—reading and writing them. I have always been a reader, but my journey as a writer began over a decade ago when a friend and I were working on a potential TV project for which I wrote a pitch. She was an account manager at a marketing firm and took it to her boss for input. He said, "Who wrote this?" followed by, "Does she want a job?" I was working in insurance at the time and hated it, so I jumped at the chance to do something creative with my life.
Since then, I have worked for marketing agencies, web developers and individual clients, with my current position in corporate digital marketing for the manufacturer of several national brands. My experience runs the gamut of advertising, public relations and business communications—from web content, social media, digital ad campaigns and video production management to print ads, press releases, newsletters, and strategic marketing plans. In addition to writing, I also have experience as a speaker, having given several presentations on business communications, marketing trends and leadership in both conference and classroom settings.
Education:
Oh school, how I love you, too. I really do. Going to class, taking notes, research, writing—all of it is right up my alley, which explains why I'm a professional student at heart and a researcher and writer by trade. My undergraduate degrees are, surprisingly, in agriculture: animal science and agribusiness with an emphasis in ag communications and a minor in journalism.

After embarking on a career as a writer—with teaching ambitions at the time—I signed up for graduate school. I have a master of arts in English as well as an M.A. in heritage studies, an en route Ph.D. program. As a small town girl with big ideas, I have found the interdisciplinary nature of heritage studies quite rewarding and enjoy combining my experience in rural life and agriculture with my passion for history and cultural heritage.
